The long-term goal of the internship is for the student to obtain permanent employment – preferably in the same company as the internship. During the internship the student consolidates his or her skills in one of the main IT areas: technology, software design, visualization and quality assurance.

Another aim is to build a relationship between the student and the company. To strengthen this relationship, the student is introduced to the working and social environment at the company.

The steps are normally as follows:

1.       An AspIT consultant contacts the company.

2.       The AspIT consultant and a childcare consultant visit the company and discuss the prospective intern’s background and any particular demands.

3.       The company explains their tasks and expectations.

4.       If there is a solid basis for cooperation, AspIT looks for a suitable student with the appropriate skills.

5.       The student selected, the AspIT consultant and the childcare consultant pay a visit to the company and settle the details of the internship.

6.       The internship begins.

7.       After fourteen days, the childcare consultant visits at the company. To ensure an enjoyable and fruitful internship for all parties, continuous contact is maintained between the student, the company and the childcare consultant.

8.       It may be possible to extend the internship. Afterwards, if all parties are interested, the possibility of permanent employment will be discussed.
